Action on mental health needs global cooperation

Mental health disorders are the leading causes of disability worldwide. The global political will is growing as the upcoming symposium ‘Making Mental Health a Global Priority‘ shows.

As threats to populations transcend national boundaries, it is crucial that responses to mental-health problems do too, say Pamela Y. Collins and Shekhar Saxena.

Furthermore the need and demand for mental-health care is increasing as vulnerable populations expand.
